JOB TITLE: Learning & Development Specialist
REPORTS TO: VP of Finance, Accounting, & HR

JOB PURPOSE: The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for leading the organization's learning and professional development programs. This role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees. The specialist ensures that learning initiatives align with business objectives and support the overall growth and success of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement the learning and development strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skills gaps and training requirements across the organization.
- Create an annual training plan and budget, managing resources effectively.
- Program Design and Delivery:
- Design and deliver engaging and effective training programs, workshops, and e-learning courses.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and formats, such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, and lectures.
- Ensure training materials are up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with current best practices and industry standards.
- Evaluation and Improvement:
- Develop and implement evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness and impact of training programs.
- Collect and analyze data to measure training outcomes and ROI.
- Continuously improve training programs based on feedback and evaluation results.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior leadership, HR, and department heads to identify and address learning needs.
- Partner with subject matter experts to develop and deliver specialized training content.
- Build strong relationships with external training providers and vendors.
- Technology and Innovation:
- Leverage learning technologies and tools to enhance the delivery and effectiveness of training programs.
- Stay current with emerging trends and innovations in learning and development.
- Implement and manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other e-learning platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor?s degree in Business, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in learning and development
- Proven experience in designing and delivering a variety of training programs.
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools to measure training effectiveness.
