Our summer camp has been known as the best experience for campers with special needs. Our campers are engaged in activities such as swim, sports, science, art, music and drama. We provide a variety of special events and field trips for campers. Our dedicated and compassionate staff help foster friendships and support campers in reaching their maximum level of independence.
The Seasonal Camp Director will be skilled, compassionate, creative and enthusiastic. He/she/they will direct the growth and care of campers and ensure a fun and nurturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute all camp activities including launching and tracking registration, planning trips, developing programming and activities, family outreach, and interact with Administrative & Finance office
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of the camp
- Recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and supervision of all specialists
- Plan the day-to-day schedule
- Monitor the assessments and enrollment of campers
- Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and supervising of staff
- Ensure all staff trainings are implemented and tracked
- Manage and participate in all camp open houses, camp trainings and additional fundraising events
- Attend camp fairs and job fairs
- Assist with DOH audit and ACA accreditation
- Participate in CPR, first aid, epi pen, and SCIP trainings
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Educator
- Previous camp experience preferred
- Communication skills including strong interpersonal skills with clients, staff and parents, as well as the ability to speak, read and write effectively
- Exhibit patience, initiative, enthusiasm, resourcefulness and strong attention to detail
- Able to effectively develop, document and implement behavior management protocols
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Ability to provide leadership and motivation to staff and work effectively with diverse groups of people
- 2 years supervisory experience preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Supervise all specialists and staff
