Position Title: Category Manager, Indirect & Distribution
Location: Bothell, WA
Reporting to: Sr. Category Manager, Electrical, Electronics and Indirect
On-Site/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid/Remote
Travel Required: Up to 40%
Reporting to the Sr. Category Manager, this position plays a key role in executing our strategies with responsibility for sourcing direct parts in assigned categories, utilizing the global leverage of Terex ensuring that Terex globally and regionally achieves best value in cost, quality, delivery, reliability, service, and support. This role will also co-ordinate cross functional relationships, including engineering, materials management, local purchasing, operations, finance, and aftermarket.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibility for the development and implementation of category strategies for Indirect, Consumables, and Electrical components
Development of policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring safety, quality, and delivery continuity
Collaboration with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide a resilient and cost-effective supply chain
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to identify best fit suppliers for Electrical components and systems
Develop and implement a sourcing strategy for Electrical components purchased through Distribution to meet business needs and to optimize costs
Development and management of relationships with key suppliers, interface as the global relationship owner between Terex and global suppliers
Negotiate and manage company-wide contracts for Indirect, Consumables, Electrical components, and Capital investments
Development and implementation of global pricing structures, including material indexing mechanisms where necessary to maintain cost control
Develop sourcing plans for footprint moves, new product launches, and engineering changes to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions
Evaluation of risks within the category, develop and execute risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Identification and leverage global supply base potential including R&D and test capabilities to improve Terex competitiveness in the market
Driver of continuous improvement and business simplification efforts - effectively building Terex for long term success
Maintenance of conduct consistent with company policy, operating procedures, accepted practices and applicable laws
Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management or manufacturing
Bachelor's degree with focus on procurement, supply chain, engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proven record of strong negotiation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be will and able to travel (travel is estimated at 25% rising to 40% during periods of supplier assessment and selection)
Experience working with global supply base in manufacturing industry
Strong procurement and strategic sourcing background
Experience in contracts for Indirect and Capital investments
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and able to work with little guidance
Excellent project management skills and used to work in global, cross-functional teams
Proven supplier management and negotiation skills; able to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all involved parties
Technical savvy and able to read technical drawings, specifications, and applications
Strong problem-solving aptitude and excellent analytical skills plus high proficiency in MS Office products
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $125,000 USD annual. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
