Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager of Molding Products, the Maintenance Supervisor manages the activities of the Maintenance Personnel and Outside Contractors.
Schedule all Predictive, Preventative, Corrective, Project Oriented and Safety related work to Equipment and Facilities. Manage all activities around operations and the production schedule in a safe manner.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 4 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with a variety of the fields and their concepts, practices and procedures.
- Ability to handle several projects at once.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Proficient with computers, Microsoft products and good typing skills.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to make quick decisions and direct subordinates accordingly.
Essential Functions:
- Interacts with the Plant Engineering Manager to prioritize maintenance objectives and projects.
- Supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain equipment, buildings and facilities.
- Prepares work schedules, assigns work and oversees projects for the maintenance department.
- Development and management of an effective Preventive Maintenance Program, continuously reviewing and revising the program as needs and equipment changes.
- Develops written procedures and work instructions.
- Generates Preventive Maintenance Work Instructions monthly, attaches them to a Work Order Form and distributes them to the maintenance Personnel.
- Follows up on maintenance tasks to determine that jobs are completed, that the work was done properly and in a timely manner.
- Data entry of the Maintenance Work Order System.
- Orders repair parts, maintenance supplies and some production supplies.
- Keeps a Vendors/Suppliers List to continuously compare pricing on frequently ordered items and gets the best prices.
- Maintains an Equipment and Facilities List documenting model numbers and serial numbers of major equipment in the facility.
- Maintains equipment critical parts inventory.
- Updates and organizes individual equipment files and manuals.
- Assists the Plant Engineer with obtaining quotes and scheduling outside contractors for larger jobs that are beyond the scope of the maintenance department.
- Able to wear a negative pressure respirator when needed.
