Nike Volleyball & Basketball Camp Director of Operations (D.O.Op) Position
Job Overview
The Director of Operations for our Volleyball and Basketball Camps will be responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of our sports camps, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience for participants and staff. This position requires a highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports management, if their background is volleyball or basketball specific even better. This candidate will have a passion and desire for youth sports and administration. Having a coachable candidate will allow for a speedy and seamless acclimation to this seasonal role.
General Responsibilities
Camp Operations & Logistics
- Manage day-to-day camp operations, including facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Prepare and study for parent questions so you are able to listen and answer fully, confidently, and accurately or know how to find the necessary information to be able to provide and answer.
- Ensure all facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Oversee the registration process, including managing databases and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Prepare and maintain a clean, presentable, and welcoming camp entrance, camp space, and check-in desk.
- Be able to see and observe potential areas that aren’t working as smoothly as possible to present for potential adjustment.
- Enforce camp rules and regulations when the need arises.
- Creating and maintaining a fun, enjoyable, and safe staff/customer experience.
- Have the confidence to take the lead in ensuring a successful camp experience at all levels
Staff Managment:
- Provide ongoing supervision, support, and professional development opportunities for camp staff.
- Ensure the punctual arrival of all staff and communicate the need of replacement if necessary.
- Conduct weekly anonymous performance evaluations of all staff and provide feedback to ensure staff performance aligns with camp goals.
- Effective and constant communication with the staff team on and off-site
Inventory & Equipment:
- Ensure all inventory is there and accounted for before, during, and after the camp's completion. Communicate any missing or needed items so delivery can be arranged.
- Create and maintain a fun, enjoyable, and safe staff/customer experience.
Camper & Parent Services:
- Serve as the onsite liaison/ point of contact for parents, campers, and staff regarding camp inquiries and issues.
- Account for the daily camper attendance and contact the parents of any absent campers
- Actively listen, observe, and take and take necessary on any incident that occurs in camp (injury, behavioral, facility issue)
- Address, communicate, and assist in resolving any conflicts or concerns that arise during the camp season.
- Ensure a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment for all participants

- Director & D.O.Op Hours:
- Mon-Thur 8:00am-4:15pm; Fri 8:00am-12:30am (Volleyball)
- Mon-Thur 8:00am-4:15pm; Fri 8:00am-12:30am (Basketball)
- Coaching Staff Hours: Mon-Thur 8:15am-4:15pm; Fri 8:15am-12:15am
- Camper Hours:
- Mon-Thur 9:00am-4:00pm; Fri 9:00am-12:00am (Volleyball)
- Mon-Thur 9:00am-4:00/5:00pm; Fri 9:00am-4:00pm (Basketball)
- D.O.Op Lunch: 1:15pm-1:45pm daily (This is so lunch doesn't overlap with other staff members
- Benefits: This role allows for a lot of downtime throughout the week. This will occur since you will be manning the check-in table waiting for the next needed task or for the time block for a task to arise. The pay reflects this downtime and the ability to utilize this downtime as desired.
- Pay: $400/week
- Attire: A Nike t-shirt and a pair of Nike shorts will be provided for all staff members for each week of camp that is worked. All staff will be required to wear Nike shirts, shorts & shoes for the full duration of the camp week. (This is a Nike camp after all!)
- Experience:
- Prior sports administration or a similar experience such as High School Coach.
- A sports/ athletics background is required as this position requires this base knowledge to hit the ground running for this role.
- Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Google Drive and camp management software.
- First Aid and CPR certification are preferred, but not required.
- Availability to work for the full duration of the upcoming opportunity is required.
