Position Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Education Research
Location: Remote or Washington, D.C. (Hybrid)

MDB, Inc., a leading research and consulting firm, is seeking a highly qualified Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. As an SME, you will play a pivotal role in advancing education research and shaping evidence-based practices. Our mission is to provide national leadership in expanding fundamental knowledge and understanding of education, from early childhood through postsecondary study. The projects are in support of the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) and the National Center for Education Research (NCER) in the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) at the United States Department of Education.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with technical working groups to inform research priorities and methodologies.
- Attend technical working group meetings as the designated SME.
- Create comprehensive meeting summaries based on attendance, review of notes and transcripts, and guidance from research center staff.
- Ensure meeting summaries adhere to IES Style Guide, Graphic standards, and federal plain language guidelines.
- Distill key concepts discussed and outcomes from the meeting into a thoughtful synthesis.
- Include a list of key references mentioned during the meeting.
- Engage in up to three rounds of review with IES for revisions.
- Submit the final summary report within five business days after receiving COR acceptance.
