RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Kforce client in Houston, Texas (TX) is looking for an experienced Level 3 Desktop Technician with SCCM Administrator skills. This position is onsite in Houston, TX and is a one year contract.
Summary:
The desktop level 3 with SCCM administrator skills is responsible for providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting for desktop devices, applications, and network connectivity issues. The role also involves managing and maintaining the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) environment, deploying software updates and patches, creating and deploying images, and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Desktop Technician will provide level 3 support for desktop devices, applications, and network connectivity issues, escalating complex or unresolved problems to the appropriate teams or vendors
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software, including operating systems, drivers, antivirus, office applications, and peripherals
- Manage and maintain the SCCM environment, including servers, clients, distribution points, collections, reports, and inventory
- Create and deploy images, task sequences, applications, packages, and scripts using SCCM
- Deploy software updates and patches using SCCM, ensuring compliance with security policies and standards
- Monitor and troubleshoot SCCM deployments, logs, and status messages
- As a Desktop Technician, you will perform backup and restore operations for SCCM servers and databases
- Document and update desktop procedures, policies, and best practices
- Provide training and guidance to junior desktop technicians and end users
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in desktop support and administration, preferably in a large enterprise environment
- At least 3 years of experience in SCCM administration, including image creation and deployment, software update and patch management, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and other network protocols and services
- Strong knowledge of desktop hardware and software, including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, Adobe, and other vendors
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with end users, managers, and vendors
- Certifications in Microsoft, SCCM, or other relevant technologies are preferred
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds of equipment
- Ability to work on-call and after hours as needed
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
