Burlington School District is seeking a Tech Support Specialist to assist the IT department. This position provides support to the school district’s technology and associated services. Main responsibilities include maintaining hardware (computers/laptops, Chromebooks, iPads), software applications, and associated equipment and services in the
district schools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Diagnoses and troubleshoots hardware, network, and software problems.

Maintains records of technical support requests and needs for district schools.

Installs and upgrades hardware, operating systems, and software programs.

Communicates with end users during the support process.
-
Maintains user logins and passwords for various services.
-
Maintains software and hardware inventories.
-
Provides on-site, remote and phone support to multiple schools
-
Provides customer support through the district phone help desk.
-
Process warranty repair claims.
-
Interact with students to resolve issues with district issued devices.
-
Proactively anticipates, preempts, diagnoses and solves hardware, network, and software problems.

Works with district staff and students to meet their technology needs.

Collaborates with tech support colleagues in providing support to schools.

Communicates and operates as a professional support representative.
-

Monitor compliance with laws and policy pertinent to technology use.

Participates in district computer services team meetings.

Performs other tasks or assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the immediate
supervisor or his/her designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
-
High school diploma minimum.
-
Associates degree or greater in a computer or information technology related field is highly preferred.
Experience:
-
Windows 10 or later, no less than 2 years required.
-
Mobile devices (Chromebook, iPad), no less than 2 years required.
-
Positive, effective and professional customer service and relation skills with staff, students, community members and colleagues whose computer skill-levels vary widely.
-
Wired and wireless network technologies preferred.
-
Mobile Device Management systems preferred.
-
Disk cloning or imaging systems preferred.
-
Familiarity with Google products- Gmail, Google Drive, etc.
The working conditions of this position include:

Work is performed in a regular office setting. Travel between District buildings is
required. -
The person in this position is frequently required to lift up to 30 pounds.

There is occasional bending; regular stair climbing is required.
EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS/TERMS:

AGREEMENT: As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Burlington Education Association.

CONTRACT YEAR: 12 months, 261 workdays (based on start date), 8 per day/40 per week

BENEFITS: Benefits eligible on start date. 30 days to enroll in coverage from start day. BSD Benefits!

PAID TIME: Sick Time / Personal Time As per the Master Agreement.
