Established, prestigious Advanced Eye Care & Aesthetics practice is seeking a well-suited qualified individual that would be initially responsible for management of all front desk duties with potential growth in the Eye Care and Cosmetic practice management.
Duties of this position include:
- Manage very efficiently patients’ flow and coordinate office schedules and daily room allocation
- Provide excellent patients’ communication with highly professional telephone and verbal communication skills
- Maintain and update accurately patient records in the existing EMR records
- Verify all the Insurance and ensure patients’ coverage is current prior to office visit
- Coordinate surgery schedules by obtaining timely medical clearances.
- Communicate with the primary care providers to ensure clearance appointments are scheduled well in advance of the Surgery schedule.
- Communicating with labs, other health care providers, and insurance companies as necessary for records updates request and other medical related activities.
- Scheduling maintenance and repairs for the medical devices like X-ray machines
- Ensuring that you other employees keep accurate records and comply with local laws and regulations HIPPA and PCI compliance
- Maintaining medical inventory by ordering new supplies and equipment as needed
- Making regular verbal or written reports to the Doctor office or clinic owners or executives
- Order/purchase office supplies
Desired Skills:
- Candidates for the position will preferably have at least 2-3 years of experience being a office manager and/or medical office administrator in a surgeon's office or medical clinic.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Experience with OHIP Billing
- Building strong positive communications and networking with referring physicians and works as a team to enhance the success and growth of the practice.
- Knowledge of Medical billing and coding. Knowledge of ICD-10
- Having excellent skills in communicating with patients, insurance companies and marketing vendors.
- Improve the online image of the practice.
- Digital marketing to help post, schedule and help organize promotional events
- Previous Medical Front Desk Experience, preferable in the Ophthalmology Field
- Experience using EMR/ Electronic Prescribing

Qualifications:
- College degree or Associate Degree preferred
- experience in the Medical Front Desk Management accepted in lieu of college degrees
- Successful completion of JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred.
