The Senior Applications Specialist position has delegated responsibility for problem solving, assessing processes and issues, and collaborating with other staff and physicians to develop and design solutions resulting in efficient and functional workflows for end users of Mountain Park Health Center (MPHC) clinical applications. The Senior Applications Specialist serves as the primary resource for the clinical aspects of the electronic health record and other clinical applications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS
- Accountable for all new EHR and clinical applications projects including coordinating the design, planning, implementation, and optimization of clinical information systems.
- Active participation on implementation teams, including practice assessment, workflow analysis and design, application and interface/data exchange testing, go-live preparations and support, and problem resolution.
- Act as a change agent to promote adoption of new processes and technologies to support best clinical practices.
- Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods (i.e. individual training, group training, lectures, conferences, workshops).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to embrace differences among people and able to interact with internal staff as well as external contacts in a culturally competent and respectful manner.
- This position requires consistent, in-person attendance at the employee’s assigned clinic. However, based on the employee’s performance and the specific task the employee is accomplishing, limited remote work may be permissible.
- This position also requires the employee to travel to different clinics when the job calls for travel.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Education, Nursing /Healthcare related field, or a Computer Science/Information Technology/Informatics related field or 5 or more years of experience in healthcare, IT or information in healthcare.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with training and support of EHR applications, preferred.
- Experience in a medical group setting or ambulatory setting preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365.
