Position Overview:
The Key Account Manager (KAM) Chain Drug will be responsible for managing and growing our chain drug and value accounts, including CVS, Kinney Drugs, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Family Dollar and Dollar Tree. Other accounts may be added either in these categories or separate as well. This role involves implementing strategic initiatives, driving sales growth, and ensuring exceptional service to these key accounts. The role will also involve being on point with various brands sold at these accounts. A high analytical proficiency is required. This role will analyze data and create action items based on the data.
Key Responsibilities:
● Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at chain drug accounts (CVS, Kinney Drug, Walgreens, Rite Aid).
● Strategic Implementation: Implement strategic initiatives to increase sales within assigned accounts.
● Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and distribution, to ensure seamless execution of account plans.
● Performance Monitoring: Monitor account performance, analyze sales data, and provide regular reports to senior management.
● Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capture additional market share.
● Issue Resolution: Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to accounts, resolving any issues that may arise.
● Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to inform strategic planning.
● Proficiency in planogram interpretation, distribution grid analysis, and also in some cases creation of planograms. Proficiency in Space Management programs such as Appollo desired.
● Ability to schedule and manage resets to completion with speed to market and attention toward void closure.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in key account management, preferably within the food distribution or consumer packaged goods industry.
● Ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent sales and interpersonal skills (as evidenced by previous successful sales experience).
● Proven track record of successfully managing and growing key accounts.
● Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to analyze sales data and develop actionable strategies.
● Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
● Ability to work alone or on a team and a willingness to do whatever it takes, including sharing related industry knowledge with company management.
Physical Demands:
● Routinely required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
● Routinely required to walk, talk, hear, and move around the facility.
● Routinely required to keyboard and manipulate small and large objects.
● Requires travel by car and on foot approximately four to five days per week in the field
● Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
Working Environment:
● Field work as well as internal office work environments when requested for company meetings. Extensive field work with visits to various establishments and location conditions
● Requires repeated getting in and out of personal vehicle and visiting customer business establishments
Travel:
● Must have own vehicle, valid driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance.
● Requires travel by car and on foot five days per week
● Ability to travel within assigned territory and to NEIC headquarters and depots
