We are looking for a full time medical biller for a small primary care medical office.
Duties include billing to insurance and patients, entering payments, some insurance authorizations, answering questions from patients regarding their insurance coverage, identifying out-of-network patients and optimizing the payment of co-pays and/or deductibles.
As part of a team in a small office, you are expected to maintain a professional appearance and assist with general front office duties when needed.
What you'll do:
- Collect and enter patient information/demographics
- Verify insurance and eligibility
- Enter claims and submit billing to insurance companies
- Follow up on claims, collections and denials and file appeals
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all patient matters as per HIPAA regulations
What you'll need:
Experience / Training / Education
- 1+ years medical billing experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance
- Experience in working with EMRs
- Understanding of ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Familiarity dealing with pre-authorization and appeals processes
Skills/Abilities
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn new methods and processes
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients and staff
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
