POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineer Lead is responsible for ensuring the successful technical execution and commercialization of products (or features) for all QuickFitting product lines. This position will require close collaboration with the Product Management & R&D teams to support early development efforts and provide input and guidance. The Mechanical Engineer Lead will play a key role in working with the Quality team to ensure all quality industry standards and performance requirements are met. This role also requires creating all the necessary technical documentation (drawings and related specifications) to be used by vendors, suppliers and internally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Take ownership of resolving all technical matters to ensure a successful product commercialization per QuickFitting’s New Development Product Roadmap and Business Strategy
· Creatively solve problems and challenges by relentlessly pursuing possible solutions from wherever is needed.
· Work with the larger development team to successfully launch new and innovative products and features to market through collaboration and teamwork.
· Oversee the creation of technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and 2D and 3D digital models of mechanical equipment designs using internal and external resources.
· Work closely with Product Management to fully understand all product requirements and challenges as outlined in PRD documents and related industry specifications.
· Coordinate directly with Product Managers and Quality to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices.
· Review and ensure the accuracy of all technical drawings and schematics, using both CAD programs (SolidWorks) and manual calculations when necessary and provide necessary feedback to address any issues.
· Ensure all tasks and milestones are on track by meeting all established NPD milestones and deadlines and finding creative ways to resolve any issue that might arise.
· Ensure all technical documentation is as accurate as possible, by performing multiple checks and peer reviews and get necessary approvals from Engineering Management.
· Establish a good working relationship with QuickFitting’s vendor/supplier base by regularly communicating and resolving all technical issues in a timely fashion.
· Any other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience is required.
· 8 to 10 years of related experience required.
· Extensive experience in successfully launching new products to market using some type of NPD process is required.
· Familiarity with big box retailers and wholesalers is required.
· Solid track record of working with off-shore (Asia) vendors/suppliers is required.
· Familiarity of 3D modeling and 2D technical drawing in SolidWorks is desired.
