Position: Assistant Controller – Sr. Manager

Summary/Objectives: Utilizing accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices, plan, organize, direct and control the accounting and control function; report operational results; perform complex accounting activities and financial analyses. Responsible for tracking and reporting Company costs, productivity, margins and expenditures.

Coordinates and administers an adequate plan for the control of operations. Such a plan provides profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable, cost standards and saving opportunities, and capital investing, together with the necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan.
- Compares performance with operating plans and standards. Provides reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the formulation of accounting policies, the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required.
- Forecasts short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations, as a basis for maintaining adequate funds.
- Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage.
- Monitors credit and collection applications.
- Provides other company departments with related information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities.
- Establishes and implements a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan.
- Executes cash disbursements for payment of corporate expenditures in accordance with disbursement policies.
- Monitors inventory levels and advises management regarding variances to budget.

Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures

Review journal entries to ensure accuracy

Train, mentor and oversee accounting staff

Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations

Assist with financial and tax audits

Document and monitor internal controls in support of generally accepted accounting principles

Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments

Assist in the completion of special projects as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience preferably in manufacturing/production environment; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Preferred:
- Experience NetSuite ERP system a plus
- Public Accounting experience

Work Environment: General office environment that is climate controlled. Will be required to visit production area occasionally and may be exposed to airborne contaminants, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Production area is not climate-controlled. The noise level may exceed permissible exposure limit and hearing protection may be required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-Time. Work Schedule: 9/80 Schedule: Monday through Friday (every other Friday off), 7:00AM – 5:00PM. May require overtime based on business needs.
Travel: Minimal travel is expected for this position.
