Position Summary
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for automating, organizing, monitoring, and maintaining all Neptune Data Center Operations on-premise and in the cloud. This will include the following duties.
- Monitor, manage, and configure all LAN and WAN devices.
- Support the design and implementation of solutions utilizing VMware environments, ensuring adherence to with architecture, compliance and security standards.
- Monitor and manage data center operations of Enterprise IT applications and environments, ensuring system performance objectives are being maintained.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery systems and process for all on-premise applications.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support and ensure operations, software or hardware trouble tickets are responded to in a timely manner, verify any response time SLAs are met or exceeded.
- Ensure that servers have the latest critical and security patches applied. Coordinate updates with technical and business process owners.
- Manage Azure Active Directory, On-Premise Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
- Build and support infrastructure and various resources in Amazon Web Services.
- Manage VMware virtual servers, deploy new systems, troubleshoot problems, perform updates and apply patches.
- Recommend improvements to the Neptune environment to ensure performance, up-time, and incident avoidance.
- Ensure backup systems and procedures are working and provide direction in implementing and enhancing the processes and restore data as required.
- Work outside of business hours may be required (requirement to be on call for system down/critical issues support).
Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science in MIS, CIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent
Experience:
- Firewall management, network switch configuration knowledge.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Firewall, Network, and System Admin or equivalent role
- Previous experience VMWare ESXi, vCenter Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
- Ability to articulate technical topics to non-technical audiences both in writing, in diagrams, and in-person
- Solid analytical, critical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- High level of personal organization and attention to detail is essential.
