Job Summary:
Responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing, and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician.
Essential Functions:
1. Complies with HIPAA and OSHA regulatory requirements.
2. Administers treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.
3. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
4. Ensures that any changes in patient status are documented accurately and on a timely basis.
5. The staff therapist coordinates delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to support staff (COTA, Rehab Techs).
6. The staff OT participates in operational aspects of the department maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in all Quality Assurance activities.
7. Provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines.
8. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.

Education and Work Experience:
1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. Licensed in the State of Ohio.
Certificates and Licenses Required:
1. Current Occupation Therapy license in the State of Ohio
Environmental/Working Conditions:
Therapists may spend a lot of time on their feet while working with patients. May be required to lift and move patients or heavy equipment. Many work in multiple facilities and have to travel from one job to another. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 pounds.
