Title: Fitness Consultant
Department: Sales
Reports to: Membership Manager
Supervises: Assigned Department Associates
The following provides a detailed description for the position of Fitness Consultant. Actual duties performed may vary slightly. The Fitness Consultant is responsible for promoting and selling memberships to potential new members and selling upgrades to current members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
∙ Obtain and qualify sales leads via walk-ins, telephone inquiries and other company approved methods.
∙ Establish and maintain a minimum of 10 lead boxes/bowls in the community on a monthly basis.
∙ Follow up on all prospects by using established sales systems.
∙ Conduct facility tours and telephone inquiries using established sales systems.
∙Establish and maintain minimum required referral program as defined by Company standards.
∙ Maintain FC planner using established sales systems.
∙ Stay up to date on Company pricing and promotion schedule.
∙ Maintain information on club history, background, philosophy, facilities, staff and policies.
∙ Understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
∙ Assume responsibility for developing selling skills. Prepare for, attend and actively participate in sales meetings.
∙ Maintain a positive relationship with the entire staff. Support other employees in achieving their goals.
∙ Participate in all scheduled meetings as directed by the Membership Manager or AGM.
∙ Enroll new members and follows up to ensure customer satisfaction.
∙ Assist in maintaining a clean and operationally sound facility.
∙ Consistently achieve or surpass personal and club sales goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
∙ Excellent sales, communication and customer service skills.
∙ Must be able to successfully pass all testing requirements including facility tours, telephone inquiry, counselor planner audit, guest card audit, lead box/bowl program, referral program and corporate outreach program.
∙ Thorough understanding of Element Fitness membership sales systems.
∙ Demonstrate understanding of the Daily Sales Stat report and its contents.
∙ Basic computer skills.
Job Description
Required Experience, Education and Certifications
∙ High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Hours
∙ 40 hours per week.
∙ Morning and evening shift rotations with one weekend day per week.
Language Skills
∙ Ability to read and interpret common business-related documents such as the Element Fitness membership agreement. Ability to respond, verbally and in writing, to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community.
Compensation:
∙ Hourly Non-Exempt plus commission and bonus
∙ Fitness Consultants are paid based on an hourly rate and are required to record all hours worked through the hourly timekeeping device.
∙ Commission is based on membership sales and bonuses vary by responsibilities.
