Production Operator Responsibilities:
Work with computer-controlled equipment or mechanically based machines to make sure that they are set up properly, working well, and producing quality products. These machines perform one or more packaging functions such as labeling, packing, erecting, de-palletizing or wrapping containers. ZXP packing and line equipment includes but is not limited to filler, drop packers, palletizers, de-palletizers, case erectors, and label machines.
Routinely:
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates a production machine in accordance with specifications and procedures in a timely fashion.
- Performs various tasks to operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines.
- Inspects parts to verify specifications and make adjustments or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
- Keeps equipment clean and operating safely utilizing Lock out Tag out procedures.
- Monitors machine and reports malfunctions to Filler Operator and/or Line Leader.
- Accurately performs and records paperwork.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Math ability to add, subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply, and divide with 10’s and 100’s, as well as using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Language, Writing, and Basic Computer Operating Skills include:
- An ability to read, write, and understand instructions and simple sentences,
- An ability to understand the similarities and differences between words and between a series of numbers; and,
- Basic computer skills
Physical Demand and Work Conditions:
- A high volume of walking, sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is part of the daily schedule at ZXP.
- Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel and use hands and arms to reach.
- Ability to understand and follow directions and to hear machines operating is required.
- Regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities are required to perform this job. They include, but are not limited to distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- All ZXP employees are exposed to weather conditions consistent with the Texas region. Also, frequent exposure to moving equipment, and high noise levels typical of a manufacturing plant with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals is expected.
