Job Title: Director of Mothers Day Out

NOTE: THIS IS A MONDAY-THURSDAY PROGRAM. Indeed lists it as Mon-Fri, but we are a 4 day a week facility.
SUMMARY
The Director will report to Associate Pastor of Discipleship Ministries, the MDO committee and will provide relevant information to the committee and the Associate Pastor of Discipleship Ministries and Senior Pastor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Personnel Administration
1. Hire/train new staff as required by the program.
2. Insure that all staff is qualified and meets the minimum requirements set forth by the state.
3. Train and coach staff.
4. Help employees succeed and lead by example.
Parent Relations
1. Keep parents informed of child care activities, schedules, new policies and offer community resource information when requested.
2. Monitor communications between parents/teachers when requested.
3. Contact parent if child becomes ill/injured while attending MDO/Preschool.
4. Handle Parent concerns.
Student Responsibilities
1. Be sensitive to the individual and group needs of children. Have a joyful approach to the child.
2. Possess sufficient maturity and judgment to function in crisis situations.
3. Create an atmosphere of positive and appropriate discipline.
4. Cover any unexpected needs of children.
5. Be open to diverse learning styles.
Personal Responsibilities
1. Continue professional growth by attending at least 20 hours of continued education/professional development a year.
2. Be involved in community by representing the MDO/Preschool program and its interest.
3. Acquire and maintain board recommended CPR and first aid certification no later than six (6) months after being hired.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Financial Administration
1. The Director is responsible for all financial oversight of the MDO/Preschool program and shall provide necessary information regarding accounts receivables/payables to the Business Administrator on a regular basis.
2. The Director shall be responsible for ensuring that all required records for licensing, classroom attendance, early drop-off, teacher attendance and monthly delinquency list are met.
3. The Director will be given assistance from the Business Administrator in preparing the annual budget for MDO/Preschool along with the MDO board.
Office Management:
Administration
1. Direct the administration and the daily operation of the program in keeping with the highest principles of early childhood education combined with underlying Christian principles.
2. Direct the planning, equipping, maintaining and inventory of space, equipment and supplies used by MDO/Preschool in coordination with the Minister of Children or designee.
3. Coordinate activities and use of building and supplies with the Business Administrator and other appropriate staff.
4. Will serve as a member of CHUMC Children’s Council. Will attend church communications/calendar meetings and will present status reports on MDO/Preschool.
5. Will make sure that the “Safety Policy” as devised by CHUMC is adhered to at all times.
6. Be familiar with DHS policies.
7. Will be computer literate as well as insuring that the Assistant Director and all pre-school teachers are as well.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is required. A minimum of at least three years of relevant experience is desired. This person should possess leadership and organizational abilities and the ability to make mature judgments and decisions. This person will demonstrate an understanding of the needs of children and adults and an aptitude for working with them. This person should possess strong written and verbal communication skills with some experience in Christian education.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
