First review of applications will be Monday, June 24, 2024.A Senior Parts and Supply Specialist is responsible for providing leadership in planning, assigning, and directing the receipt, storage, and distribution of parts, tires, and supplies, including bulk coolant and lubricants at an assigned location. Additionally, incumbents are responsible for the reconciliation of all warranty issues at their assigned location. This class may also (by assignment) be responsible for the planning and operation of the tire shop to include overseeing the tire retreading program; maintaining the fleet tire inspection program; monitoring tire contractors’ work performance; and managing tire inventory records. Incumbents are responsible for supervising Parts and Supply Specialists and may also supervise a Parts and Supply Assistant at an assigned location. This class is also responsible for performing related duties as required.A Senior Parts and Supply Specialist is responsible for helping to establish, implement, and enforce division policies and procedures for the receipt, storage, and distribution of parts, supplies, tires, and equipment. Additionally, this class is responsible for obtaining price quotes and warranties, managing work orders, ensuring the accuracy of the inventory at all times, and assisting in the annual inventory audit, including reconciliation of any problems found. This class is distinguished from the Parts and Supply Supervisor class by the responsibilities related to supervision, including preparing performance appraisals. This class receives general supervision from the Parts and Supply Supervisor who reviews work through conferences, reports, and overall results achieved. Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED. A minimum of three years full-time work experience in auto parts or tire inventory control including one year of lead/supervisory experience. Special Requirements. Must obtain Tire Industry Association (TIA) Basic Commercial Tire Service (CTS) certification within one year of hire or promotion date (tire assignment). Preferred/Desirable Qualifications. College coursework in materials management, inventory control, and computer science is preferred.
