Job Description
The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support for day-to-day Human Resources operations and personnel matters. Responsible for operational and technical Human Resources duties, including employment application tracking, computer entry, and file maintenance, assisting employees and the public with personnel information, and administrative assistance in employee onboarding and new hire orientation. Maintain confidential personnel files, personnel actions, and preparation of job postings and computerized employee data information.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, arranging meetings, composing regular correspondence, processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copy, tracking deadlines.

Ensure strict confidentiality of all patients, staff, and company information.

Perform exceptional customer service by answering employee requests and questions courteously and professionally.

Collaborate with leadership and personnel to ensure site success, personnel needs are met and employee engagement efforts are maintained.

Assist with the administration of federal, state, and company leave programs.

Process payroll and benefit changes within the required timeframe. Instruct employees on how to make necessary changes in the employee self-service system.

Maintain unemployment claims and provide the basic information requested.

Complete all employment verifications in a timely manner.

Processes invoices for payment and maintains office accountancy.

Ensures HR is properly supplied with office materials and monitors inventory.

Process and maintain Human Resources employee online and paper files.

Administer the competency process for new hires, 90-day and annual due dates.

Assist with training development, scheduling, and maintaining training files as requested.

Complete the new staff hiring process, including pre-employment required paperwork, drug screening, TB testing, and assist with new staff orientation. Submit the investigation requests and background checks. Verify I-9 documentation through the E-Verify system. Collect all necessary documentation to meet the requirements of the staff position.

Upon short notice, respond to requests for HR personnel information from regulatory agencies and auditors.

Contribute to team effort by assisting with projects as needed.

Perform all other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Qualification/Experience/REQUIREMENTS:
-
High School diploma or equivalency, associate degree preferred.
-
Two-three years of office/clerical support experience.
-
Human Resources experience preferred.
Standard Employment Requirements
-
Must possess a valid and unrestricted Arizona driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the last three years. Must maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license during employment. Must be insurable under NATIVE HEALTH’s liability auto policy.

Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment and retain a valid card while employed with NATIVE HEALTH.

Must pass substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.

Must provide an updated immunization (IZ) record at the time of employment.

Must have a current (within 12 months) Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide an annual update.

Must obtain a First Aid/CPR Card within (90) calendar days of employment and maintain a valid CPR Card during employment.
