Job Title: Chaplain
Overview:
As a Chaplain, you will play a crucial role in providing spiritual and emotional support to individuals in need. You will work closely with diverse populations, offering guidance, counseling, and comfort during challenging times. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong communication skills and a deep understanding of religious practices.
Duties:
- Provide spiritual care and support to patients, families, and staff
- Conduct religious services and ceremonies as needed
- Offer bereavement support to individuals experiencing loss
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to address holistic needs of patients
- Lead and participate in hospice care initiatives
- Mentor and educate others on spiritual matters
- Manage conflicts and provide mediation when necessary
Skills:
- Proficient in hospice care practices
- Experienced in religious ceremonies
- Strong leadership abilities to guide others in times of need
- Skilled in providing bereavement support with empathy
- Ability to present effectively in various settings
- Conflict management expertise to resolve issues peacefully
- Excellent written communication skills for documentation purposes
- Capacity to educate individuals on spiritual matters
- Experience in mentoring others for personal growth
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Divinity, Theology, or related field (Master's preferred) - OR- Masters degree in Social Work with qualifications of experienced clinical grief counceling
- Certification as a Chaplain preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in chaplaincy or pastoral care
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
