Responsibilities:
The Nursing Faculty Member for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program plays a crucial role in providing high-quality education to future nurses. This position focuses on classroom and clinical teaching, academic advising, and active involvement in academic and service-related activities. The ideal candidate will exhibit a commitment to ongoing intellectual competence and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, up-to-date, and evidence-based lectures, discussions, and activities for nursing courses.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student success.
- Utilize technology and interactive teaching methods to enhance student learning in a competitive, technology-based learning environment.
- Provide clinical instruction and supervision to nursing students in healthcare settings.
- Ensure that students receive hands-on training, guidance, and support to develop clinical competencies.
- Collaborate with healthcare facilities to coordinate clinical placements and ensure adherence to program requirements.
- Assist students in developing individualized academic plans to meet their educational and professional aspirations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including research, attending conferences, and staying current with advancements in nursing education and practice.
- Contribute to the development of innovative teaching methods and curriculum enhancement.
- Participate actively in department and university committees, as well as community engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve program quality, assessment, and accreditation efforts.
Qualifications:
An earned master’s degree in nursing is required and previous experience teaching at the BSN and/or MSN level is preferred. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Louisiana or eligible for licensure. Successful candidates must be committed to working effectively with diverse student populations.
