The Project Manager (PM) will oversee the daily operation of Assistant Project Managers, and fully manage projects assigned by the Company in conjunction with the President and Principal oversight. Project Manager will attend monthly Team Leader meetings in collaboration with the Project Coordinator. Project Manager will attend client meetings and represent the best interests of the company as related to ongoing and proposed projects and marketing requirements.
The expectation at this level is that the PM is generating work for themselves, either by business contacts the SPM refers, including the Proposals they produce, and/or the expertise they bring to the Company.
Job Description
Primary responsibilities include:
- Client marketing and contact with assistance from the Marketing Manager;
- Representing the company at client meetings including after hours and evening Board meetings, when necessary;
- Proposal site visits and generation, including setting the fee and staffing plan;
- Managing operations, employee scheduling, and timely delivery of work product;
- Submission of employee work product and timesheets;
- Employee growth and personnel training and development;
- Being familiar with and implementing company policy;
- Developing innovative programs and positive coordination/communication with other company team members to support overall company growth and well-being
- Promoting a positive work environment geared toward promoting the BECS mission statement; “We strive to be the leading national engineering and waterproofing consultant for every facet of the building envelope.”
- Perform quality assurance construction observations, along with field reports
- Prepare mockup scope of work, observe contractor's construction and conduct integrity testing.
- Perform condition surveys of existing structures
- Deliver report of findings to client and review the report with the client to answer any questions.
- Work with the Design Studio to develop of design specifications and repair details
- Support Business and Development and Marketing managers in the development of prospecting, qualifying, and lead follow-up for the marketplace
- Develop proposals for additional tasks for existing projects
- Maintain a client base and harvest work from existing clients and find new opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications include:
- 5 - 8 years’ proven professional experience in construction, structural engineering, building enclosure investigations, design, and/or solid project management experience.
- Experience with Bluebeam preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- Candidates with a P.E (Professional Engineer), RA/AIA Registration, or Industry-specific certifications (RRO, AABA, AAMA, IIBEC, AWS, ACI, ICRI, SWRI, AIA, etc.) are preferred.
- Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT)
- Strong technical, graphical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
- Comfortability with heights, including climbing ladders, scaffolding.
