Job Description:
- Design and develop resin processes for the manufacture of contact lenses, including mixing, casting, curing, and finishing operations.
- Optimize process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and curing time to achieve desired lens properties and performance characteristics.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate new resin formulations and process improvements into production operations.
- Evaluate and select equipment and machinery for resin processing based on performance requirements, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with equipment suppliers to customize and optimize machinery for specific resin processing applications.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and uptime of resin processing equipment.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to monitor resin process parameters and ensure consistency and uniformity of contact lens production.
- Conduct in-process inspections and quality tests to verify compliance with product specifications and industry standards.
- Investigate and resolve any quality issues or deviations in resin processing, working closely with quality assurance teams.
- Continuously evaluate and improve resin processing techniques to enhance efficiency, productivity, and yield.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste minimization, and process optimization through process improvements and innovation.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to contact lens manufacturing, including FDA regulations and ISO standards.
- Maintain accurate records of resin processing activities, including process parameters, test results, and quality assurance documentation.
- Participate in audits and inspections, providing documentation and support as needed.
Experience and Skills:
- Years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in resin processing or polymer manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of resin chemistry, polymerization kinetics, and processing techniques relevant to contact lens manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with resin processing equipment, such as mixers, casting machines, and curing ovens.
- Knowledge of quality control principles and methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality management systems applicable to medical device manufacturing (e.g., FDA QSR, ISO 13485).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse stakeholders.

Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
