Industrial Maintenance Mechanics
SmartHire is hiring Industrial Maintenance Engineers for a client in Kent WA. These are Direct Hire / Full Time position with a Food Production company. Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of recent maintenance experience specifically in the food manufacturing industry or similar. Robust electrical background for automation and electrical distribution needed. Must be able to work weekends as needed.
Pay:
$30-$40 an hour DOE

Schedule:
2nd shift hours vary from 2:00pm start and 4:00pm start depending on coverage for that week. 4x10’s with at least two days off consecutive
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will ensure plant production equipment continues to operate safely and efficiently utilizing skills to reduce unwanted downtime. Will assist in analyzing and troubleshooting electrical, automation, mechanical, and operational problems on all equipment.
Essential Job Duties:
- Observe operation of Production equipment and note areas requiring repairs and modifications.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
- Troubleshoot equipment failure and adjust, repair or replace the correct part using power or hand tools as appropriate.
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacements or repair of leaks in drains and faucet unclogging)
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems.
- Reconfigure, install, position, and remount modular offices and space (e.g. Furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.
- Prepare surfaces and paint various structures and equipment (e.g. Walls, Refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools.
- Follow all OSHA, HAZMAT, USDA, FDA, and EPA rules and regulations.
Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years machine repair and maintenance in a manufacturing or production environment, food industry a plus
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Formal training (certification) in a mechanical-industrial-related trade desired.
- Able to understand engineering/mechanical/electrical procedures.
- Experience with CMMS (work order PM system) is preferred.
- Experience with cooling systems is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Possess basic knowledge of OSHA and Food Safety regulations.
- Basic pneumatic, conveyor, and electrical experience.
- Ability to work or assist with and on welding or fabrication equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment of all kinds, including automated production machines, conveyors, and sensors.
- Able to follow instructions and prioritize jobs.
