Position Summary:
Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and bio-med equipment in good repair. Primary duties will include minor electrical work, mechanical repairs, and other duties relating to maintenance.
Position Responsibilities:
Clinical / Technical Skills (40% of performance review)
· Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems as required.
· Performs preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of the facility and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls.
· Assists in maintaining and repairing HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.
· Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required.
· Perform upkeep of the facility, which could include but not limited to, painting, wall repair, on call after hours, unclogging toilets and sinks, etc.
· As required, assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems. Inspects and tests equipment/systems.
· Assists in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required.
· Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.
· Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs removing trash and scrap material).
· Reads blueprints, interprets instructions and prepares specifications.
· Knowledgeable of safety measures/devices used on behavioral health units.
· A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.
· A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment.
· Knowledge and observance of safety precautions.
· Perform other duties as required
Education
· Required: High school diploma or GED. CPR and SCM certifications obtained during orientation.
· Preferred: Some college or vocational program
· Maintains education and development appropriate for position.
· May substitute experience for required education.
Experience
· Required: One year building maintenance and/or general labor on construction projects or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Preferred: HVAC certification and/or a minimum of two years’ experience in HVAC repair and maintenance, and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
· May substitute education for experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
