Salary:
- Entry Level Positions - $17.50 per hour – $18.63 per hour*
- Prior Experience Positions - $18.13 per hour – $19.61 per hour*
*Start rates increase upon the completion of training/work hour requirements
Positions available throughout Atlantic County, New Jersey.
Full Time positions start at 32 – 40 hrs. per week - Hourly, non-exempt
Essential Functions: Insure the overall health and safety of consumers and strive to have consumers understand and exercise their rights to the fullest extent possible. Provide training to consumers in the development of independent living skills including but not limited to, instruction in social skills, meal preparation, money management, sexuality, and hygiene.
Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
- Valid New Jersey non-probation/non-provisional driver’s license
- Successful completion of background check and drug test
Post offer requirements:
- Successful completion of all training, as required
- Basic physical
- Negative Mantoux/chest x-ray
- Must continue to hold a valid New Jersey non-probation/non-provisional driver’s license
Qualifications:
- Entry Level Positions - Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required
- Prior Experience Positions - At least two years’ experience in direct care work in human services, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Must be able to respectfully communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing with consumers, all levels of staff, family members and other persons in the community
- Must be able to use good judgment in dealing with consumer issues/emergencies, as well as staff related issues
- Must work well independently and maintain a good working relationship with supervisor.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Insuring the overall health and safety of the person/people you support
- Through on-sight support, assist individuals with maintaining their home, in a shared living environment, by serving as a supportive companion, advocate, and skill builder.
- Offer person-centered supports that recognizes the rights of the individual, and encourages a person to live the life they choose
- Build skills that support individuals with daily living needs
- Use of a company vehicle to transport people as needed or required
- As assigned, provide the appropriate level of support needed to plan and prepare well-balanced meals, and complete grocery shopping
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.25 - $23.36 per hour
