Position Overview
LifeGuides is looking for an experienced Engagement Marketing Specialist (EMS) in the employee engagement and/or employee benefit space. This person will implement digital marketing strategies & campaigns to drive awareness & adoption of employees of our clients, and increase member engagement of the LifeGuides service. This is not a business-to-business (B2B) model, it is business-to-employees (B2B2E).
A successful person in this position will have strong organizational skills, open communication, and collaboration. The ideal EMS is a creative thinker, proactive planner, and has the ability to quickly execute on ideas.
This position is a part of the LifeGuides Client Success team and reports directly to the Director of Client Success.
EMS Responsibilities
Digital Campaign Execution
- Collaborate across departments to plan, execute, and monitor digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, content marketing, and digital & print campaigns to an employee audience
- To promote a single-point HR solution: develop & execute email marketing campaigns, including designing email templates, writing compelling copy & subject lines, promoting live events, segmenting email lists, and tracking email performance
- Expertise in A/B testing and rapid-learning outcomes/results in order to iteratively improve campaign effectiveness - driving higher open rates, click-through rates, registrations and overall utilization of LifeGuides services.
Content Creation & Management
- Create & optimize engaging and persuasive content for digital platforms, including email campaigns & newsletters, App messaging, flyers, blog articles, as well as landing page copy to an employee audience
- Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and effectively communicates key messages & call-to-actions to employees of clients that may have fractured/disengaged populations
Mobile App Promotion & Communications
- Effectively promote mobile app messaging and engagement strategies to create excitement and usage to an employee audience
- Develop & execute on a communications strategy for notifications, reminders, etc., within the mobile app
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze digital marketing campaign performance within MailChimp & SendGrid
- Provide regular reports on key metrics, such as site traffic, conversion rates, email open rates, and campaign ROI
- Identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations
Market Research
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify industry trends, customer insights, and best practices in digital engagement marketing opportunities
- Stay informed about emerging digital marketing technologies and techniques

This person must be comfortable working in a messy, constantly changing, intense and exhilarating growth stage venture environment, which often comes with deadlines. The EMS must be committed to true excellence in work and performance, while balancing the need for action in a fast-paced startup. This requires a mindset of constant learning and growth.
Hard Skills
- Proven marketing experience to diverse employee audiences of multiple clients
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels & strategies, including email marketing, & content marketing
- Proficiency in email marketing platforms (MailChimp, SendGrid)
- Technical proficiency and troubleshooting skills

Cash Compensation: The salary will be determined based on experience and alignment with our team culture, supplemented by generous equity for a venture capital-backed enterprise. For regions with standard living costs (e.g., outside of San Francisco), compensation will be approximately $65K to $80K, plus a strong incentive plan to reward great success.
