Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Biomedical Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX.
Overview:
The principal reason for this position is to provide engineering and technical support to NASA-sponsored flight and ground sensorimotor research and operations conducted by the Neurosciences Laboratory. The Neurosciences Laboratory is a component of the Biomedical Research and Environmental Sciences Division, which is responsible for the performance of biomedical research focused on: 1) understanding the normal human response to space flight, and 2) developing, testing, and delivering countermeasures to those untoward responses that may affect crew health, safety, and/or performance during or after space flight missions.
Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Company’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company
Responsible for completing all assigned training.
Perform work that involves conventional engineering practices.
Application of engineering principles and practice of related specialties.
Collect, reduce, collate, analyze, and archive operational, flight, flight analog, and ground data.
Analyze experimental data and recommend modifications to analysis procedures and analytical methods; develop and modify software for data reduction and analysis.
Operate specialized equipment used in tests on human subjects.
Operate data acquisition systems during hardware verification, science verification, and actual data acquisition from human subjects.
Prepare and update appropriate documentation of software and hardware development activities.
Design and develop software and hardware for data collection and testing.
for potential acquisition; contact vendors for information, and initiate procurement.
Assist in the preparation of human research protocols, technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
Participate in test readiness reviews and meetings related to the development and implementation of human research protocols, detailed test plans, etc.
Contribute to the formulation and documentation of standard procedures in the laboratory.
