Lerner Enterprises, the leading real estate management company in the Washington Metropolitan area, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our premier Class-A commercial office properties located in Tysons Virginia.

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the operation, replacement, repair, and maintenance of all general building components; electrical, control systems, plumbing, lighting, and other building mechanical and electrical systems. The Mechanic will also be assisting the Engineer in routine preventive maintenance tasks, housekeeping and painting as assigned by his/her supervisor.
Essential Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repair of building interior and exterior components and building systems.
Conduct daily inspections of public areas and make repairs as necessary.
Assist in the preventive maintenance program as assigned by his/her supervisor, including annual cleaning of coils in air handling units and connectors to maintain optimum heat exchange.
Assist Engineers in placing orders for compressors, pumps, motors, parts, etc., with suppliers.
Comply with Lerner Corporation’s Employee Manual and Safety guidelines.
Ability to use regular and special tools (ex. screwdrivers, hammers, adjustment gauges, multi meters, and lubrication equipment).
Position is categorized as ‘Essential Personnel,’ requiring site response to emergencies, floods, storms, power failures, snow removal, etc. as needed/directed.
Education/Experience:
CFC Certification required for working with refrigerants at his/her assigned location.
A high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is desired.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial office building plumbing, electrical and lighting systems.
Physical Requirements: The following are minimum physical performance requirements.
Must be capable of climbing ladders and working at heights.
Must be capable of walking/remaining on feet 75% of scheduled 8 hour shift.
Must be capable of lifting 25 pounds.
Possess adequate sight, hearing and speaking capabilities to maintain a safe working condition and be able to distinguish wire colors and component color codes.
Additional Skills:
Familiarity with operation of building automation systems is desirable, but not required.
Ability to communicate effectively and execute written and oral instructions and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
