The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR), is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Grant Specialist position. This position researches, pursues, and monitors grant opportunities for organization fit and monitors awarded grant program activities, expenditures, compliance, and reporting in collaboration with internal ADCRR teams and funding agencies.
Job Duties:
- Monitors awarded grants to ensure compliance with Federal and other programmatic and financial requirements
- Prepares ongoing reports of activities and status of grant programs
- Researches grant opportunities
- Notifies agency administration and staff regarding the availability and suitability of relevant grants
- Monitors legislative and regulatory issues pertaining to Federal funding and other grant funding
- Collaborates with agency staff with grant application preparation and serves as the primary office of responsibility for grant applications submitted through web-based systems or other methods as required
- Maintains centralized grant files in compliance with records retention requirements
- Prepares ongoing grant activity/status reports, ad hoc and period grant reports
- Drives on State business
- Performs duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
- Grants and grant administration systems, processes and budgeting
- Grant sources and grant application procedures, proposals, and reporting requirements
- Federal and State grant regulations and procedures
- Accounting theory, principles, and practices as they relate to grants administration
- The principles and practices of administration with particular emphasis on planning, organizing, and directing comprehensive administrative services
- Principles and practices of public administration
- Community resources
- Online grant administrative tools (e.g., e-Civis).
Skill in:
- Verbal and written communication
- Establishing and maintaining effective interpersonal working relationships

- Proficient use of computers and associated software (Microsoft Office and Google)
- Analyzing and systematically compiling technical and statistical information and preparing reports and correspondence

Selective Preference(s):
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or Accounting
- Four (4) years of experience with grants administration and/or compliance (governmental grants experience a plus), including four (4) years of managerial experience in State and Federal grant procurement, government finance, and/or grants accounting
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

Retirement:
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
