JOB OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for supervising expedient, effective and professional patient care through direct supervision of technical staff. Maintains an effective working relationship with all staff, departments, and physicians, focusing on the provision of quality and timely patient care.
DEPARTMENT: Ancillary Specialty Services (Echocardiology, Sleep Center, EKG, EEG and Clinical Neurophysiology)
REPORTS TO: Director, Ancillary Specialty Services
PREREQUISITES:
- Bachelor degree in Business or Healthcare, or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree required.
- Registered in ARDMS (AE, RCS, RDCS, preferred.
- Minimum 5 years' experience of direct patient care in one the above listed out-patient department, required.
- Minimum 2 years recent consecutive managerial or supervisory experience in an out-patient department, preferred.
- Direct experience with budgeting, productivity, quality improvement projects, scheduling, staff scheduling management, and EPIC systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and skill in effective staff supervision.
- Knowledge of health care and general business regulatory and licensing requirements.
- Knowledge of the normal signs of aging and ability to provide age-appropriate care.
- Knowledge of state and federal requirements of onsite inspections.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical practices, and procedural/diagnostic coding.
- Knowledge of and skill in the use of a personal computer.
- Knowledge of department policies and established confidentiality policies.
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communications.
- Skilled in time and project management.
- Effectively trains staff in department procedures and practices.
- Ability to develop and maintain rapport with a wide variety of individuals.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise staff in compliance with policies and procedures, to include interview, hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, initiate and conduct disciplinary actions as needed, train, provide for in-service and continuing education of staff, assure appropriate staffing levels, to assure effective department operations.
- Schedule and coordinate staff; participate in establishing goals, performance standards and expectations; monitor and provide appropriate verbal and written feedback.
- Collaborate with internal and external support services to adhere to service standards, wait times, scheduling efficiencies, referral patterns and throughput.
- Participate in development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide input on development of capital and operational budgets maintaining budget targets through effective utilization of staffing resources, matching staffing to volume.
- Monitor standards of patient care in compliance with all applicable regulations, and standards.
- Assure patient care standards are met.
- Maintain effective communications between the Ancillary Specialty Services and other departments within the hospital as well as with practitioners, and staff.
- Attend in-service and continuing education updates and maintain skills to provide professional support to the staff.
- Assure and maintain all quality control data and documentation in an organized manner.
- Assure all patients are treated in accordance with Valley Values.
- Maintain current knowledge of clinical technology, procedures and practices; maintain licensure and certification.
- Participate in community professional organization and events for the purpose of professional development.
- Contribute to the success of the organization by keeping current on new developments and by performing duties as needed or assigned.

Pay: $104,383.00 - $156,575.00 per year
