This position requires no prior work experience, and no minimum education level. It is a great opportunity to get started in the restaurant industry and learn the basic operations of a commercial kitchen.
On the job training is provided for preparation, food handling certification and sanitation procedures, including equipment handling and basic maintenance.
Job responsibilities include:
-Following industry standard cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
-Cleaning and sorting dinnerware, utensils, and storage equipment.
-Cleaning and maintaining work areas and work area supplies during shift, and thoroughly cleaning, sweeping, and mopping work areas at the end of shift.
-Basic food handling, including maintaining seafood and chicken at proper temperatures in an ice bath.
-Basic breading and fry techniques
-Basic food preparation
Job requirements include:
-Simple multiplication skills are required for scaling recipes in food prep.
-Standing in one location or a small space for extended periods of time of 2-3 hours.
-Able to lift at least 40 Lbs from the ground to chest level.
-Ability to work quickly and multitask.
-Basic organizational skills.
-Ability to recall 4-6 items at a time reliably and repeatably.
-Ability to take directions, and a willingness to learn
