We are seeking a team member with talents that include packaging and shipping of parts to company’s customers in an accurate and timely manner. Qualified applicants would package and ships parts to company's customers per customer and company requirements, safely and effectively transport and package products within facility, construct shipping containers per requirements, and compile and maintain accurate and timely records of shipped orders and quantities.
- Job title: Shipping Associate
- Pay: $18 to $22/hours based on experience
- Shift: 1st Shift (Mondays through Fridays, 6:00am to 2:30pm with overtime possible)
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (battery operated)
- Builds, repairs, and supplies various work centers shipping containers (i.e. crates, standard and custom pallets, and gaylord boxes)
- Picks up and unloads completed production parts from various work centers in preparation for auditing, packaging, and shipping
- Organizes products on pallet racks
- Accurately audits parts per part number and compares results to sales order to ensure that parts match order; provides audit count to sales for invoicing purposes
- Meets or exceeds production expectations daily based on Company’s Production Schedule; informs management that production expectations will not be met if production begins to fall behind schedule
- Packs and labels product and packages based on established standards in a timely manner in time for scheduled shipment
- Ensures that proper parts and accessories are shipped with correct order and per customers’ and Company’s specifications
- Creates packing slips and shipping documentation according to Company and customer's standards; maintains orderly files for all documentation
- Obtains freight and UPS quotes and follows up on tracked orders
- Provides Company's Sales team with shipping updates, including maintaining a list of orders that ready for shipments (completed and awaiting shipping or pickup); alerts Sales team when COD orders remain uncollected for extended period
- Coordinates shipping events with customers who provide own shipping methods
- Participates in scheduling of daily transportation
- Assists in responses to requests for tracking of missing shipments
- Assists in maintaining shipping materials inventory levels and informs purchasing personnel what type and quantity of shipping supplies are needed in a timely manner
- Maintains a safe, clean, and organized working environment per Company policy
- Assists in Company's other work centers when required
- Performs work safely, effectively, and conscientiously
- Participates and supports 5S organizational improvement efforts
- Maintains established packaging and shipping supply minimums and requests order of supplies as needed on a weekly basis
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities
- 2 or more years related experience or equivalent
- Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods
- Forklift certified (battery operated forklifts)
- Ability to accurately operate a counting scale(s)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Ability to accurately read calipers to 100th
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm; accepting of overtime when requested
- Understanding of safety requirements for lifting and equipment maintenance
- Acute attention to detail
- Proficient on M1 software (company training available) and Microsoft office products (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
