Job Summary: The mechanical designer is responsible for completing and releasing drawings that satisfy customer design requirements, industry specifications and company standards. Prepares and modifies mechanical drawings in a timely manner while working under the direction of the Engineering Manager.
Mechanical Designer Responsibilities:
· Create part assembly drawings based on design created by Engineering, Sales, or Customer.
· Be able to complete sets of complex drawings that include multiple section views, component drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials.
· Prepare a full range of simple and complex 3D/2D models of assemblies and components consisting of mechanical, piping products.
· Designer works from sketches (red line), physical examples, computer models, and verbal information supplied by Engineering, Sales, or Customer.
· Input the parameters from 3D models to set CNC machine to produce designed parts.
· Must be responsible for maintaining compliance with tight schedules and effectively manage own time.
Mechanical Designer Requirements:
· At least 1 years' experience in the role is preferred.
· Experience in the HVAC/R, or similar sectors, is preferred.
· High school diploma (technical-mechanical specialization) or Associates' degree (preferably in mechanical drafting or similar).
· Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD (Inventor preferred).
· Good knowledge of the Office Suite.
· Knowledge/use of PLM (Teamcenter) and ERP (SAP) systems is a plus.
· Excellent knowledge of manufacturing design principles and analytical skills.
· Electrical design knowledge is a plus.
· Bilingual English – Spanish is a plus.
· The ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills.
