Qualifications
NJ Instructional Certification (Standard only) with the Preschool-3 or N-8 endorsement, or an Educational Services Certification (Standard only)
Three to five years successful teaching experience in a preschool
Experience with Creative Curriculum and performance-based preschool assessments
Able to push, pull, bend, twist, kneel, lift 50 lbs
Able to physically move quickly to respond to emergent situations to ensure student safety
Hold a standard teaching certificate in Early Childhood
Have excellent teaching experience working directly with preschool children and/or in a school setting
Have experience in providing professional development to classroom teachers and/or mentoring teachers
Knowledge of Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS)
JOB GOALS: The Instructional Coach/PIRS provides coaching for the teachers to enhance their use of the Pyramid Model for Promoting Social and Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children practices in the classroom, the district's curriculum, principles of early childhood education, and childhood development. Additionally, provides coaching and support in the organization, implementation, and coordination of the Early Childhood instructional program to ensure that all students meet and exceed the New Jersey Department of Education's State Standards and works collaboratively with teachers to support their implementation of the curriculum, instruction, and assessment continuum.
