Job Summary
The Patient Access Supervisor oversees the admissions and scheduling areas within our hospital. Responsible for ensuring efficient patient registration processes, maintaining accurate patient records, and optimizing scheduling procedures to enhance patient satisfaction and streamline operations.
Reports to: Patient Financial Services Manager
Essential Job Functions
1. Supervises and leads a team of admissions and scheduling staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
2. Oversees the patient registration process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Develops and implement strategies to optimize scheduling procedures, minimize wait times, and maximize appointment availability.
4. Collaborates with other departments to streamline processes and improve overall patient flow.
5. Resolves escalated patient access issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
6. Stays updated on industry trends and best practices related to patient access and admissions processes.
7. Monitors the accounts payable position to ensure that everything is entered and paid properly.
8. Works closely with patient accounting for accuracy in cash posting.
9. Reconciles and manages all bank accounts to include initiating ACH’s, wires and transfers.
10. Updates Department Expense Tool and works with department mangers on monthly departmental expenses.
11. Manages and maintains all sub-company books and prepares financial reports for them.
12. Works with CFO to monitor contracts, leases, and other items relating to the accounting department.
13. Works with HR to assist where needed in processing payroll and any accompanying reports and reconciliations.
Physical Requirements
Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours. Interacts with staff, visitors, Board of Managers, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions/circumstances. May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and hepatitis B viruses.
Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures
Normal office environment. Hazards are minimal if safety precautions are utilized. Protective clothing/equipment normally not necessary.
