Job Summary:
Kymber is seeking an experienced Education Specialist to support the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) and the National Center for Education Research (NCER) in the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) with administrative and logistical support related to the research, evaluation, and research leadership activities in education and in special education.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide expert input and guidance on the development of educational materials, curriculum, assessments, and other work products.
- Conduct thorough reviews of work products to ensure accuracy, relevance, and adherence to current research and best practices in childhood or special education.
- Collaborate with project teams to design and implement innovative educational solutions that address the needs of diverse learners.
- Actively participate in technical meetings and workgroups, providing subject matter expertise to inform discussions and decision-making.
- Facilitate and support discussions by sharing insights, answering questions, and addressing concerns related to childhood or special education.
- Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and reports to stakeholders during meetings and workgroups.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and coherence in project objectives and outcomes.
- Engage with educational institutions, policy makers, and community organizations to build partnerships and advocate for effective educational practices.
- Represent the organization at conferences, seminars, and other professional events.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) specializing in early childhood education or special education subject matter
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in education
- Must have existing Public Trust with a Federal Agency
- Deep knowledge of educational theories, practices, and policies related to childhood and special education.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing educational programs and materials.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and engage diverse stakeholders.
