Houston Galleria area litigation firm that handles personal injury and commercial disputes is looking for someone seeking long term employment and a chance to grow with the firm. Candidates will have the opportunity to handle the day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the matters on which they work, from pre-litigation analysis and client recommendations through trial and appeal. Applicants must have a minimum of 1 - 4 years of litigation experience as a practicing attorney. Excellent writing skills, academic background, motivation and enthusiasm are required.
Job Responsibilities And Duties Of Litigation Attorney
- Create relationships with clients and guide them through the litigation process;
- Work with opposing counsel and the courts;
- Research case law, statutes, jury verdicts, etc.;
- Prepare Motions, Discovery, Disclosures, etc.;
- Participate in Mediations, Depositions, Trial, etc.;
- Manage the case litigation from start to finish;
- Prepare witnesses for depositions and trials;
- Review medical records and discovery;
- Investigate facts and technical issues relating to cases; and
- Other duties as may be determined by supervisors.
Qualifications of Litigation Attorney
- Currently licensed to practice law in Texas;
- 1 year of litigation experience;
- Trial and/or arbitration experience;
- Knowledge of trial and hearing procedures including the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure;
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve, be creative, use discretion, ask questions when necessary and be detail oriented;
- Exceptional writing skills;
- Ability to handle their own caseload;
- A high degree of initiative and mature judgment;
- Federal Court experience (preferably);
- Personal injury experience (preferably);
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and ability to learn new software;
- Must submit to employee screening per firm's policies;
- Compensation depends on experience and credentials.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
