About our Childcare Program:
Our Childcare program serves both families living within our transitional housing programs as well as community-based families. The program is designated Licensed Plus, a quality rating system that recognizes NH childcare programs for efforts to improve the quality of care for young children and rewards programs that strive to improve their practices and staff qualifications. We focus intentionally on a social-emotional curriculum, incorporation of the NH Early Learning Standards, as well as trauma-informed care. Our childcare program is offered for children 6 weeks – pre-school.
The role: The Childcare Senior Lead Teacher supports both classroom and administrative leadership of our Childcare Program.
Classroom Responsibilities:
- Serve as Lead Teacher for 20-25 hours in classroom, supporting curriculum implementation and planning time.
- Provide programming that meets social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive needs of all children within the program.
- Develop weekly lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate and social emotional curriculum; prepare necessary materials
- Assess children’s growth and development, at minimum, twice annually using the Ages and Stages assessment tool
- Establish appropriate communication with families, building relationships that build trust and share experiences related to children
- Interact with children and encourage their involvement in activities/experiences
- Provide a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where children can trust and learn; maintain a classroom environment that is child-centric, inviting, positive, and professional
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining program staffing schedule
- Support administrative tasks, including state billing, USDA/CACFP submissions, licensing renewal, and maintaining up to date files for children
- Serve as Family/Parent Liaison, including leading tours and enrollments, maintaining family relationships and providing conflict resolution, attending IEP meetings or Parent Teacher Conferences, and supporting Community Programs as needed.
- Provide Team Leadership, including onboarding and mentoring new teachers and interns, providing professional support to teammates, identifying and tracking staff trainings, and supporting teachers in maintaining NH Professional Credential
- Supporting healthy team culture, including an atmosphere of positive morale, professionalism and continued learning, and ensuring trauma-informed and strength-based approach childcare program delivery.
Qualifications:
- MUST be Lead Teacher qualified (18+ College Credits in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Elementary Education)
- MUST be at least 18 years old and have high school diploma or equivalency
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in Childcare program Classroom
- Respectful, collaborative, and professional. Demonstrates emotional maturity, inclusive attitude, and is a team player.
Compensation: $22.00/hour; $45,760 annually
