Production Manager - Packaging
Purpose:
The Production Manager - Packaging provides direction and oversees employees in a production/packaging environment, enabling them to reach the daily job objectives, and also achieve quality and productivity goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in the process of packaging larger materials and products, the ability to create and maintain complex budgets, and prior management experience in a union environment.
Job Duties:
Responsible for daily implementation of production/packaging goals and objectives which include:
- Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and guidelines.
- Associated reporting.
- Responsible for compliance with all quality efforts in production through proper use of work instructions, processes and procedures.
- Controlling costs.
- Delivery of product in a timely manner in accordance with established business plans.
- Providing and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Building and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Production Managers are responsible for the management and direction of supervisors.
- Focus on management of efforts between maintenance and production.
- Implementing and carrying out production schedules for delivery of product.
- Coordination with other organizations and departments as needed to create a team environment.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma required, Bachelor degree is strongly preferred.
- 5 years or more of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Experience in a packaging environment is a plus; ideally with larger items.
- Union environment experience is strongly preferred.
Skill Requirements:
- Must be able to develop and maintain departmental budgets
- General understanding of PCs and related software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Sound communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
- Must be able to communicate in English for all business/ job related transactions.
Schedule:
- Day shift position with some evenings and weekends required.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 Annually
