Part-time Physics tutors needed for a small educational firm in Westport, CT. Predicted start date is August or September 2024, though training can happen prior.
The right person will: a) possess an excellent academic background with college level math and science classes (and we mean excellent; an Ivy League or comparable Bachelors level degree is a must); b) want to teach children and be willing to learn how to teach children; c) epitomize the word "flexible"; d) thrive under pressure and exhibit the patience of a saint; e) think creatively about everything; and, most importantly; f) have a YOUTHFUL attitude.
You don't just need to be able to 'do' school or take tests well yourself; you must be able to help others 'do' school and take tests well, which is much harder than simply having a good knowledge of content. Imagine having to keep a teenager focused on school or their upcoming exams when their friends and Facebook are calling. Literally. That's your job. Got the picture?
All tutoring is one-on-one and primarily occurs on weekends. We are in Westport, CT and you need to be able to get yourself to our location - non-negotiable.
Please send an educational history including relevant course work and all standardized test scores with your inquiry. Ability to tutor high school math (geometry, pre-calculus, trigonometry) or sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, psychology) is a plus.
