Job Title: Enrollment Kiosk Field Technician
Location: Fairfax, VA with regular travel within the United States

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive Field Technician to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair enrollment stations across various customer sites. This role demands technical expertise in troubleshooting, servicing, and ensuring optimal performance of advanced kiosk systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site installation, setup, maintenance, and repair of identity enrollment units, including full-sized kiosks, countertops, and travel kits.
- Respond promptly to service requests from customers and perform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of issues.
- Replace parts, components, or consumables as necessary to restore enrollment machines to working order.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers and coworkers on the proper use and maintenance of all components within our array of enrollment devices, including Windows IOT computers, biometric peripherals, monitors, touchscreens, cameras, networking and cellular devices, power distribution, and backup components.
- Document service activities, parts usage, and repairs performed accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively to explain technical issues and solutions clearly.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service team members to share knowledge and best practices.
- Evaluate and build mechanical/electromechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes.
- Assemble, repair, inspect, troubleshoot, and install product assemblies, power circuits, rack assemblies, electronics terminations, lift systems, camera systems, and various other electrical, mechanical, and electronics assemblies.
- Collaborate closely with other developers/engineers and become a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team.
- Investigate system malfunctions or anomalies, identify the root cause and corrective actions, and perform manual and automated tests.
- Perform assembly, test, integration, operation, maintenance, and repair of products to ensure they are performing to specifications.
- Manage inventory/stock of regularly replaced parts and devices as well as confirming that pulled parts are thoroughly tested and qualified to be installed in a field machine.
- Maintain a proper field support kit that consists of various electrical and computer-based items as well as items to help maintain the longevity of our enrollment kiosks.
- Must be able to travel frequently.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Strong understanding of wiring, circuits, and other electrical components (including component to CPU connections).
- Ability to perform electrical tests, read results and diagnose and repair electrical problems.

- Understanding of local and national codes, regulations, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications are advantageous.
- 12-24 months of experience in electrical, mechanical, or computer hardware.
- Ability to build, assemble, code, deploy, and test system components.
- Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Familiarity with biometric enrollment peripherals and mechanical movement systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Windows installation, updating, and repair.
Additional Requirements:
- Proven experience as a field technician, with expertise in biometric peripherals and MS Windows troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid US driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year
