Position Overview
The Bilingual Family Service Coordinator will facilitate communication and collaboration between existing service providers, school, students, their families, and community resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the mental and behavioral challenges facing children, youth and their families and will work proactively to provide resources, support, and guidance to both children and youth as well as their families to promote academic success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families in need of support services.
- Develop and implement family engagement strategies to encourage parental involvement in the student's education.
- Coordinate with teachers, counselors, and other school staff to identify students who may require additional support.
- Provide information and referrals to families for community resources, such as counseling services, healthcare, food assistance, and housing.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, meetings, and events for families on topics such as parenting skills, financial literacy, and educational planning.
- Advocate for families within the school system, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Monitor and follow up on the progress of students and the effectiveness of the services provided.
- Collaborate with external agencies and organizations to enhance service delivery and create new opportunities for family support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions with students and families.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in family engagement and student support.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree with at minimum 2 years experience in the human service field or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field specializing in working with children, youth, and families, preferably in an educational or social service setting.
- Strong understanding of the social and emotional needs of children and the dynamics of family interactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with school staff and community partners.
- Knowledge of community resources and services available to families.
- Experience organizing and facilitating group meetings and events.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Bilingual abilities to accommodate our diverse student and family population.
- Must pass a background check and have a valid driver's license.

Treatment (formal clients)
- Provide a minimum of 6 visits of services for adults.
- Provide a minimum of 4 visits of services for youth (under 18).
- Maintain a caseload of 40-50 clients (no more than 30 families)
- Provide identified PRP rehabilitation and support services in accordance with the clients’ treatment plan.
- Facilitate groups on site on topics relevant to the clients’ treatment needs.
- Plan and facilitate family workshops 1x/month to address rehabilitation, family bonding and support services needs.
- Maintain appropriate and consistent documentation for each client, including an initial Needs Assessment, Treatment Plan, Contact and Encounter Notes, monthly summaries, and quarterly reviews by designated deadlines.
Essential Functions
- Complete documentation in the EMR every Friday by the close of business.
- Participate in treatment plan reviews.
- Coordinate referrals for additional levels of service as needed.
- Address all clinical concerns with direct supervisor.
- Participate in weekly supervision.
- Participate in collaborative conference calls and meetings as scheduled.
- Collaborate with service providers to ensure all areas of clients' treatment needs are being addressed.
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client’s treatment.
