Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Clinical Engineer with a specialty in sterilization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and validation of sterilization equipment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in sterilization and general biomedical equipment management. The position involves a 100% travel schedule and includes both scheduled and on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sterilization Equipment: Install, set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, sterilizers, and washers.
- Validation and Testing: Conduct validation tests to ensure sterilization processes meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to healthcare staff on the proper use and maintenance of sterilization equipment.
- **Compliance and Documentation:** Ensure all sterilization equipment complies with healthcare regulations and standards. Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and validation tests.
- Field Service: Central Florida based, regional travel typically within 3 hours. Must be flexible and able to work independently.
- General Biomedical Duties: Perform maintenance, repair, and technical support for a wide range of biomedical equipment as assigned.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with healthcare professionals to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure customer satisfaction with equipment and services provided.
- Preventive Maintenance and Safety Testing: Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
- Documentation and Evaluation: Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, repairs, and failures. Review outcomes of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field preferred. An associate's degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical engineering role, with a focus on sterilization equipment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Skills: Strong technical skills in sterilization and general biomedical equipment. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Travel: Willingness to travel 100% of the time within Florida.
- On-Call: Ability to work scheduled and on-call hours as required.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of technical aspects of electronic equipment operation, repair, and maintenance. Ability to analyze, repair, and test electronic and electromechanical equipment. Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment; to push/pull equipment carts; and to kneel, stand, bend, and reach during equipment repair.

Pay: $76,000.00 - $86,000.00 per year
