Position Summary
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk II to join our finance team. The Accounting Clerk II will play a crucial role in maintaining the day-to-day financial operations including ensuring accurate and timely processing of A/P and A/R, maintaining proper documentation, and assisting with various accounting tasks.
In this role, you will report to the Assistant Controller and be part of a small but mighty finance team. This role requires a dedicated team player that will champion our core values of courage, collaboration, curiosity, and respect.
Essential Functions
- Oversee A/P process including obtaining approvals, entering invoices, making payments, and resolving payment discrepancies with vendors and internal departments
- Generate monthly customer statements, monitor A/R aging, and follow up on overdue payments
- Assist with office tasks such as receiving mail, scanning, and depositing checks
- Monitor department email account and other communications
- Responsible for expense report process and credit card reconciliations.
- Submit supporting documentation for chargebacks and other transaction dispute related requests
- Organize and maintain department files and records
- Renew business licenses and permits for all locations
- Gather sales tax exemption certificates
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation
Education & Experience Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related filed preferred
- Previous experience (1-3 years) in an accounting or finance role preferred
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Knowledge of A/P and A/R processes
- Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.50 - $27.90 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
