Family Connections has an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and their families. Family Connection’s best practices leverage trauma-informed approaches to strengthen the well-being of children within their families, support families in meeting conditions for timely reunification, prevent child abuse and neglect, and prevent entry into out-of-home care.
Nature and Scope of Work
- Prevent child abuse and neglect
- Strengthen parents’ ability to keep their children safe, healthy, and well cared for
- Serve children and their families in their neighborhoods of origin
- Reduce the likelihood of entry into out-of-home care for children receiving in-home services
- Reduce the likelihood of subsequent abuse and neglect reports
- Reduce length of stay in out-of-home care for children who can safety reunify with a parent; and
- Reduce the likelihood of re-entry into out-of-home care after reunification
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate comprehensive family assessments with specific outcomes
- Develop UBSMART goals service plans that target measurable outcomes
- Provide referrals as needed as well as promote outreach and engagement
- Empower families to use necessary coping skills to promote safety and security in the home
- Provide interventions that promote change
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Social Work or other degree in related human services field of study with 1 year’s relevant experience
- Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, responsiveness with prospective clients and other who may communicate with the agency
- Must have skills to use person centered/thinking/communication with clients, family members, and caregivers
- Must be willing to participate in culturally competent continuing education courses
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Position Requirements:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must have valid First Aid / CPR certificates.
- Must have a valid Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
- Must be able to pass a drug test upon hire and/or as required.
- Must have a valid AZ Driver's license.
- Must have a clean 5-year MVD history
- Must have safe reliable transportation, with proof of current insurance and minimum liability coverage of 100,000/300,000.
- Must not have any open or closed case with any child protective agency in any jurisdiction.
Compensation
- $23.00 hourly
- $24.00 hourly if Bilingual
- 65.5 mileage reimbursement
- Sick time
- Benefits after 30 days
