Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing:
- Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
- Ensure all invoices are accurately coded and approved for payment.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system with correct coding and cost centers.

- Payment Processing:
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Verify discrepancies and resolve billing issues with vendors.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accounts payable files and records.
- Ensure all transactions are properly documented.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures.

- Communication:
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice and payment inquiries.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding accounts payable issues.

- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Assist with audits and other ad-hoc requests.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or similar position.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
