The primary responsibility for a nurse in the Semmes Murphey Surgery Center is to assist physicians during surgical procedures, and supervise and direct patient care before, during and after surgery. This includes charting, preparing rooms/instruments, patient education, and developing a plan of care. There are opportunities for both circulating and preop/PACU RNs.
The typical hours for this position would be Monday - Friday with start times around 6am and ending anywhere from 2pm-4pm.

Requirements:
We are looking for someone who can:

Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient

Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician

Organizes nursing activities efficiently

Assists with inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels

Develops a plan of care for the patient based on assessment data and implements admission care (e.g., evaluates chart, administers medication)
Education, Experience & Credentials
Minimum Requirements:

Associates Degree from an accredited school of nursing

One (1) year of experience
Certifications & Credentials:
-
Active Registered Nurse License in Tennessee

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
